What is Cloud Foundry ?

Cloud Foundry is an open, informal, collaborative event for e-Infrastructure Engineers to relate their experience in building the next platform for e-Science.
We are a community of builders.

Why are we doing this ?

Better together

There is a need for better collaboration between the architects of infrastructure. This is an open-ended, nonpartisan event. Wave any flag you want to.

Evolution

What the heck are we even building ? There is often confusion about where things fit into the stack, and what that stack even is. Research communities are coming along with complex workflows, going crazy about containers and other things, and it would be nice to be ready for them.
Presentations will describe components, products or platforms, focussing on themes and patterns.

Patterns

Can we identify emerging patterns in how infrastructure is developed, provisioned, operated and shared? What are these patterns? Where and how do they apply?

Discuss

Patterns

The age of static recipes and cookbooks is over. We are building ever-more complex ecosystems. It is hoped that talking about what you built and how will emerge patterns that we may be able to point to and say "we tried this, it may work in the following conditons..."
